Frequently Asked Questions

Are items in my cart reserved?

Items placed in your cart are not reserved. Your order is only confirmed once checkout is completed and you receive an order confirmation email. Some varieties sell out quickly, and we appreciate your understanding. As a small grower, we have limited quantities of certain varieties. We are continuing to expand and hope to offer more of each variety next year.

What is the return policy?

Returns are accepted within 3 days of delivery. See Return Policy for more information.

When will I get my order?

We plan to ship tubers in late March to early April once the risk of freezing temperatures has passed.

How do you deal with viruses?

We cannot guarantee that every plant is virus-free, as many dahlias can carry viruses without showing visible symptoms. A 2022 study suggests that 80–90% of dahlias may carry at least one virus.

Throughout the growing season, we carefully monitor our plants and aggressively cull any that show potential signs of virus. We also follow sanitation practices, including disinfecting snips between plants and practicing organic pest control to help reduce the spread of disease.

Despite these efforts, viruses remain common in dahlias. By purchasing our tubers, you acknowledge this risk. Dahlias that show signs of virus will not be eligible for refunds.

To learn more about dahlia viruses and current research, we encourage you to visit the American Dahlia Society website.

How much does shipping cost?

1–4 tubers is $12.00 and more than 5 tubers is $18.00. We also offer combined shipping and local pick up. See Shipping Policy page for more info.

Do you offer local pick up?

A local pick up option is available during checkout for people in the Alexandria, Virginia area. See Shipping Policy page for more info.
